Wilpattu National Park






Wilpattu National Park is one of beautiful, largest and oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. There are so many "Willus" (natural lakes) in this national park. That is why it says "Wilpattu". There are 106 lakes in this park. It is located 30 km west of Anuradhapura and 26 km north of Puttalam approximately 180 km north of Colombo. It is situated approximately  0-499 ft above a sea level and the park is spread 1317 square kilometers. This park is very popular for leopards (Panthera Pardus-Kotiya).
